ATHENA Speaker Luncheon
April 24 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness and empower adults—especially busy women—to take action in protecting our children. Our schedules are packed, but learning how to prevent child abuse is essential. Whether you’re a mom, a me-maw or the best aunt GiGi around, this presentation will provide practical strategies to recognize the signs of abuse, create safe environments, and have age-appropriate conversations with our children about boundaries and safety. By taking small, intentional steps, we can be proactive in keeping our kids safe. Together, we can make a difference and provide an opportunity for our children to grow up in a secure and nurturing environment. (Men are invited as well 😊)
Take-Aways:
- Recognize steps offenders take to get to our kids.
- Define Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) and how it happens to our kids.
- Learn steps we can take to protect our kids.
- Recognize warning signs in kids.
- Gain access to guides, websites, and hotlines to help protect kids.
This is a brown bag lunch event. Beverages and light snacks will be provided.
