Our community is fortunate to claim a large number of exceptional women in a wide variety of leadership roles. Early in my career, I had the opportunity to connect with and learn from those women through ATHENA Leadership Foundation. ATHENA became that “place” where we came together for the common good of the greater community. I learned that women leaders can be collaborative while being competitive, can be tenacious while being tender, and know how to promote themselves while promoting other women in key roles. The welcoming spirit of ATHENA Leadership laid the foundation for lifelong friends and outstanding community partners.
Being a member of the ATHENA Leadership Foundation allows me to not only ‘pay it forward’ but really to connect with such a wide variety of influential women. I enjoy being a “big sister”, “little sister”, and a friend to my fellow ATHENA members and treasure the bonds we make.
